Submission requirements for D.I.Y.Featured-Artists-to-be:

Send us 2 copies of your current CD, and
A good-quality photo, and
Bio statement or press / promo kit, and
A summary of your press release , sent as a plain e-mail message to our Web dude, so we can have it in a form ready to post.

A message from D.I.Y.'s Web designer on photo's: "A 'photo' on a xerox, fax, or other printed material, has already been through the half-tone process. A scanner, being much more sensitive to such subtleties than the naked eye, will pick up the half-tone dots and interpret them as part of the image, creating what is called a moire pattern. These are a by-product of scanning any kind of printed material, and are difficult to get rid of.
What this means, is that your once-photogenic face will look like it was pressed in a waffle-iron. Or, as if you have chicken-pox arranged on your face in a perfect grid formation. So unless you want to look as if you are a breakfast food or have some strange disease, send us a decent photo, on photographic paper. Not a xerox, fax or other printed material.
